SCCA, autocross event info?
I know a lot of you guys go to the autocross events. I see that the next one is in Feb in oraneburg. Who is planning on going? Also if I want to enter what is the deal? I was wondering from you guys who have modified your car what have you done? Also is running street tires ok? Any help would be great. I think I might head out there.
Sweet, you should definitely come out!
Highlander, daytontp, and myself should all be there by 7:00 AM for setup, as we're all pretty heavily involved in running the SC region autocrosses. We'd love to see some more S2000's coming out. Here's a little rundown on our car setups, so you can see we've got a little of everything.
daytontp has an AP2, completely stock, running on street tires.
I, GamecockS2K have an AP1, mostly stock (just a front sway bar) and I'll be running on street tires this year most likely, though I'm normally on R-comps. (may end up co-driving a CRX for the season instead)
SC_Highlander has an AP1, mostly NOT stock.
He's got a rollbar, KW Variant coilovers, anti-bumpsteer, stiff front sway, AP2 transmission, 4.56 gears, some aftermarket exhaust that changes weekly, etc.
Rumor has it, he's going to run street tires this year also. (We're all getting tired of changing tires in the SC heat.
)
As for more information, check out the link Yflyer posted. It gives you a link to pre-registration. If you've got questions on classing, etc. just post 'em up here and likely either SC_Highlander or I should be able to answer pretty quickly. You can also catch me at garrett@scsportscar.com for even a quicker response.
Take care!

I should have mentioned in the other post -- last year I entered the two events held at the State Fairgrounds and had a blast, despite the awful summer heat in Columbia. My car is completely stock, OEM tires and all. There is so much to learn about the car and about driving the course that you don't need to worry about mods. SCCA supplies helmetsw if you do not already own one. It is a lot of fun to try different tire pressures, driving styles etc and see how your times change. Most drivers will let you ride with them on a run, so you can see how some of the better drives do it -- like the two who just posted above! If the meet gets done early, then they usually hold "fun runs" (timed but they don't count) for a buck a shot.
Thanks for all the info, Im going to try to make it I just have so much going on with school right now. GamecockS2k I think I sold you your phone down on main st a while back. I might see you guys this weekend. Later
