March 4th
Billy comes to my house to pull out my motor does a great and fast job. He blew me away with his knowledge on our s2ks. Then he asks me what is my plan for my block I told him I was going to buy any block from one of the members on the fourms. He then told me that it be a better idea to let him build my block and that he can do it for the same price plus he can also do a wire tuck I thought about it and said sure sounds like a good plan.


March 6
Billy send me pics of my block being disassembled and was pretty happy with the amount of work after just 2 days I was happy and excited. Buy the first week he told me the block was sent to get sleeved and he sent pics of the pistons that he order were at his house


** In the Begainng he could not get a hold of me due to my job ( army)

April 4th
Billy calls and text saying that the block is taking a little longer because the amout of work the shop had but it will be done soon

May 14th
Billy comes and picks up my car (since he took just the block ) so he can work on the wire tuck

May 18
I contact billy let him know I was just reassigned to Alaska so I will be leaving NC in dec

May 26
Billy said the wire tuck was almost done and he had pic he was going to send them the next day

Jun 5th
He got the motor back from the company that sleeved it
Still no pics of the tuck nor the block

Jun 7th
Billy said the block was sent to the machinist to get the block bored for the pistons
Still no pics

Jun 10
I called billy and told him I had to go overseas for 3 months and I'll be back

I left to afghastan left my wife's contact info and she had his Info

Nothing much mostly small talk
Still have not gotten one pic

Aug 4th
Billy send me a message on face book as well as talking to my wife that his shop has gotten broken in to and a few things where stolen my seats and my turbo he assured me that every thin will get back and that hey caught the guys that the cops had my stuff
Still no pics

Aug 6
He message me and my wife again letting me know the cops gave all the stuff back and that he was good to start re working on the the oh he said the Motor was is at the machine shop he had not had time to pick it up

sept 4
he called my wife and explained he had left the state due to a family member passing way and was sorry he had not talk to me and stuff. He reassured me that the pics will be sent tonight

He said he has not had a chance to get the pics from the shop. Had some small talk about the car .

Does not answer calls or texts

I get back from over seas still no answer

Texts me and tell me to call
We talk and he informs me that the head was not matching the block like he wanted to something about the space was off so he had to send the block back to the the machine shop today and that he will get it back this week oct 1 st when I asked. About pics he said he sent some and I let me know I have not got any he said he would resend them

Now OCT 3
have called left messages and no answer
It's kinda crazy how long it takes to send a pic which makes me wonder if he has done any work at all

So I need an update I have yet to get any pics nor the invoice to be honest I'm getting annoyed with this constant thing that's going on sorry to sound rude but I am fed up this car should of been done a long time ago I don't have any more time I have to have the car by oct 20 done or not done I'm going to pick up the car I can't afford to wait any longer I will pay for the work u did but like I said. I ran out of time plz get back when u get this

Billy called me around 6pm ish saying just got out of work I asked for an update he said he should be getting the block soon and all that needs to be done is drop the motor in and tune. I spoke to him about not returning my calls he tells me he is having issues with his phone and that the calles and stuff gets forward to his friends phone when I asked him for a pic of the car and block he sent one pic of the block and that's it . He told me he was going to send me pics of the car/ engine bay
After work and send it to me by the morning ... Oh and when I tolde him that is the car is done or not I'm picking it up on the 20th he reassured me that it will be done by the. And that since he took long he will dedduct some of the money I owe .

Just to add have paid over 80 % of the bill so funds is not the issue for lack of work/ pics

 

Man, what a nightmare. The ripples in my top seem so trivial compared to the crap you are dealing with... I just cant understand why he does this...makes no sense to anyone. I sure hope that the members and guests on this site who know B will urge him to get his stuff together.

I sure hope you get your stuff back.

 

funny i complained about the guy who sold me my car on here and was slapped on the hand for it. all these complaints about B and no one has been warned from the moderator. anyway, good luck teecss2k. i wonder if anyone sees the pattern here. it seems to me B may be a jam up wrench but he sure has left alot of people hanging and has their $ to boot. good luck with your delima.

 

i did not get any grief from the mods, but from a couple of his buds... Of course they were not getting the shaft like we are.

 

Thats messed up id take him to smLl claims court get w.e money you wrapped with him...idk he was doing good seen alot happy s2ki members. But think he has taken on way more work then he can handle goodluck man

I met B awhile back on one of my drives. seem like a nice chap. BUT! what blows my mind is how people are clamoring to have him do their top and the ones he's done are not so happy. i.ve done about 15 tops with no complaints that i know ofand charge 400$. i didn't get paid till the job was done. takes me about 8hours to do one. obviously B doesn't realize he could very well be setting hiself for a nasty lawsuit. or worse there are alot of good people getting to get screwed royally. once again good luck with your situation.

 

Communication is such an easy thing. I really hate folks are having problems getting in touch, having rework, etc...It Sucks

I've been collecting custom knives and guns for over 20 years and learned a valuable (i.e. expensive) lesson early on...never pay up front. When you get burned (not if) you just paid what is often referred to as...Stupid Tax.

Keep listening to the same song and dance, or get him to court. Easy decision for me.

Here's a few tips for you guy's and ladies out there about having your work done outside of a reputable shop environment. 1. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES PREPAY FOR WORK ON YOUR CAR. If the guy is that broke he's not a good mechanic anyway as quality guys with good reputations get PAID WELL. 2. If there are special order parts that are needed and your asked to pay for them up front, ORDER THEM YOURSELF. That way there is no question about when there coming or where there coming from. 3. I have met B and he seems like a nice fellow, BUT REPUTATION IS EVERYTHING IN THE AUTO REPAIR BUSINESS. What a guy says these days means about dick, and based on the seemingly endless threads about his piss poor customer service i'd say that speaks pretty loudly about his real motives. Regardless of what has happened to him or his shop his priority and responsibility should be to the people who have entrusted him with there hard earned money, and there vehicle. I have been in this business for 16 years myself and my families shop has been open now for 49 years, we did not accomplish this by bullshitting our customers or strait lying about what we have or have not done. When our shop was robbed 4 years ago and 6 customers cars were damaged, we didn't bullshit them or make excuses, we fixed there cars immediately. I've said this to several members on here before and i'll say it again. Don't f-ck with B, he's bad news. If I were you i'd be at that shop bright and early tomorrow morning picking up that car and whats left of your stuff. I'd also be demanding my money back, and if its a large amount consider a civil suit if you get stonewalled. Your probably not gonna get anywhere as getting money from a broke guy is about impossible, but its worth a shot if its a large amount. Good luck, and i'm sorry you and so many others have been screwed over.

 

well put from a stand up proffessional. japhethwar is a dam great wrench and knows his stuff. i trust him any time with my ride. whats amazing is there are people on this forum whom are sure that have read these threads but still seek out B for repairs. thats totally nuts to me! i need two tops installed on my Ss but i'll do it myself. done several. if someone won't return your calls, texts, or emails. it only means one thing....their ducking you!
