"A" means approximate. That means he guessed at your speed. This will be an easy one for an attorney. It was one of those "I hope this guy is an idiot and just pays it" tickets.

That's good to hear. Guess I'll call the clerk to clarify the time of the hearing then look for a lawyer. Thanks for the help.

hell with a lawyer. Show up yourself. Tell the judge you passed the trooper while he was off duty, out of his car. Assumed tickets don't mean squat anymore, unless it's coupled with other traffic violations in the same incident.

You could do that, and you would have a pretty good chance at winning in court. But, the trooper sounds like a real nutjob and he lives right down the street from you. If you embarrass him in court he could cause you some more problems down the road. A lawyer will handle it all behind the scenes with the DA and the trooper will not even know what happened.

I agree with cutuesday If you make the trooper feel like an idiot then you can count on him giving you hell

if that happens, keep the citation number, docket number, presiding judge at trial, and verdict. Use that info for reference if the judge dismisses due to lack of evidence or improper conduct of the trooper. If he bothers you again you can eat away at his credibility in court. Might seem like a hassle to you, but I'd LOVE to put an authority figure with a big head in his place anyday.

Just be glad you didn't get busted doing a 0 to "remembering there was a trooper clocking traffic right in front of you". he claims i made it to 90mph. i have no idea why he didn't take my freedom and my S ( did i say freedom twice?). but no, he just hit me for a 90 in a 45 and reckless driving. i called Mr Hawkings and he got the speeding part dropped. if i would have been hit with that i would have lost my DL for 90 days or so. needless to say i try my best to keep it under the speed limit. sports cars come with more draw backs than than little trunk space. it was dumb and cost me alot of money.

And to think I thought I was wreckless driving. I did 66 in a 35 on a regular road. I got pulled over by a cop on a motor bike. He gave me a ticket and left. Didn't ask me anything. I hired a lawyer for $185. He got everything dropped and I took an 8 hour class. I was soo close to using my PJC but he got it dropped. Thank God! It took the lawyer 6 months until everything was finished. The dang cop kept on showing up every court case. But he finally gave up the last one(6th one).

so explain how you still had to take the class if the charge was dismissed? I was under the assumption that a dismissal means you don't have to do/pay anything.
