Default Switched to Z06

Hello Fellow Carolinians,

I just recently switch to a Z06 a few weeks ago. I absolutely love it!

However, I can't seem to find a groups of people in NC that has similar interests, so I go back here.

Now my question is... where in Raleigh can I find a really empty road, place, or even better a race track where I can test my Z's full potential. So I can know its limits... and turn off traction control. Dangerous on crowded streets.

Thanks!

So the Z06 obviously has gobs of Torque and power, but...

...does it feel overly large?

...does it feel heavy?

Compared to my S, ya its large! But I like it large since my S was sooo small the cockpit was uncomfortable. But being large doesnt mean its overly heavy either. Its at~3100 pounds.

Bigger trunk too!!!

Feeel Heavy? No, its very swift and smooth on turns. With traction control/active handling, its very very hard to fish tail with it on... atleast not if you're not trying to :-).

Shifters are a . Prob will have to mod it.

Any other questions?

'01 or '02?

How does that stupid fuel-economy 1st-to-4th shift work, or have you defeated it already?

Does it attract the wrong kind of attention?

02. 1 to 4.. its not bad. I chose not to defeat it b/c I can get into warranty issues. Its really easy to adapt to... just hug first gear to about 3rpm or 20mph.. and then shift to second. 1 to 4 only engages from about 14 to 19 mph if you don't put enough gas pedal.

Wrong kind of attention? Meaning does anyone want to race me? Ahh.. not yet.. but would love to get someone to try. Any S2k wanna race?

Maybe that will change when the Cobra comes out in 03. But they are still significantly overweight.

I do get a lot of wanted attention thhough.. a lot more than my S2k.
