Default Went to the dragon for the first time

So after longing to go to the dragon for 2 years now, I finally got my chance. After planning my mountian bike/whitewater trip to Nantahala this week, I realized that the dragon was only 20mins away. So after some beggin to the g/f we went. It was a blast. I only got to make 2 runs, (we were on a tight schedule).,but I did manage to video tape my entire second run. I was talking to the people at the Cycle resort and they informed me that the "Wake the Dragon" event is only 2 weeks away!! I wish I could have pushed my trip back! I have some pics and a full video of the dragon I will be posting soon. I'll also post some pics of the other things we did on our vacation. When you guys go to the dragon, if you find yourselves wanting to do more, drive down to Nantahala and see what they have to offer, its a great time.

PS, I saw 3 silver S2Ks and a Blue one driving on I-40 yesterday, any of them happen to be you?

Congrats on loosing your Dragon "virginity." If you can make the "Wake the Dragon" event, do it at all costs.

Damn, I have the Money to make the trip (got lucky at Harrahs) but I'd probably lose my job if I took another weekend off. I'll just have to live it through the pics you guys take. Hopefully I'll have my pics up tonight.

Where'd you go mountain biking up there? Also, how'd you get your bike there? Two cars?

Also, what day did you do the dragon? You might find some pics of yourself on www.killboy.com!

We biked Flint ridge trail at NOC (Nantahala Outdoor Center). We were able to rent bikes there. If you rent after 12pm you get them at Half price. It was $50 to rent 2 $2600 mountain bikes. Great Bikes fun trail.

We were at the Dragon Saturday morning around 10:30am. There was an RX7 meet up there, which I planned to be apart of until I sold the FD and bought an S2K. I guess we were there kinda early cause I only saw 2 7s.

Thanks for the tip, gonna check it out now.

EDIT: Just checked Killboy.com don't see any pics of me. Although there are quite a few other s2ks pictured. Was it anyone on the board?

Not a bad deal on the bikes!

I recently went up to Tsali, which is also in that area. (About 20 min. from the dragon) There's some awesome trails up there! I haven't figured out how I'm going to haul the bike up there with the S2000 yet, but i'm working on it!

I rode bikes as a kid, but never like this until now and I had a blast! I'm looking into purchasing a bike myself, but I too fall into that problem. We passed Tsali and I was reading about it prior to our trip. There is another package NOC has, where you can rent their bikes and a rack and take it to Tsali. But I'm not sure how much it goes for.
