Default WHAT A DAY!

Here is the story...its kinda crazy all this happenned. So I worked a deal on a leftover '06 Laguna blue pearl. After a week of negotiating and calling around for qoutes on new and used S's, I get this dealer who is 3+ hours away down to $29.5K OTD for the new '06 laguna blue! I left at 5am this morning, got to the dealer at 9am when they openned I was ready to get the details settled and drive off. So I am waiting out front while they are pulling it around, much to my dismay...IT IS A SUZUKA BLUE!!!!!!!11111 WTF!!!!! Needless to say my jaw dropped to the pavement and I immediately said, "we have a serious problem." The salesman played it off like he didn't know, and the first question in my first ever email about the car was, "Is the car suzuka or Laguna blue?" To which they replied, "Laguna." And I went back and forth with him that I had it in writing it was a Laguna and that Suzuka is the only color I dislike. He quoted me $32.2 OTD for a '07 Rio/Spa and I told him I was headed to Charlotte to look at some S2K's I know are there. (That I got tentative pricing on).

My first stop was an '05 Silverstone with 14K on the odo. Car was clean, clean carfax, no visible streaks in the tires from 6K RPM launches, etc. Only issue was a very small scratch on the front bumper and of course a scuff under the front bumper (which is not visible unless you lay down and look under the car. Well, took it out for a test drive. They wanted $24,999+TTL Offered $23,400 OTD as an opener, left with keys in hand for $25K OTD. Not a sick deal, but not a bad one either... After about an hour in the car I was so glad I did not go out and get a new one and eat all that depreciation. Will post pics later....see you at the meets. Any Myrtle Beach/Florence people, gimme a shout.

Greer, SC...They pulled it around before I went in to do the paperwork and stuff...It could have been an honest mistake on their part, I don't know...I told the guy there is no deal he could work to get me to buy the Suzuka...I really dislike the color that much. Was about a millisecond away from getting the '07 Rio/Spa...but walked.

Sounds like you made out OK. By the way, suzukas aren't that bad. Enjoy your ride.

Wow...I hate when a plan doesn't come together... Sorry to hear about that Suzuka/Laguna issue...I know what its like to have your set on a particular color.

But hey...you pushed forward and got a good deal and what sounds like a nice car!

Mulder ATO is one of our Carolina Community Organizers and lives in Florence and knows the SC area really well...in fact he also helps us in the planning of our annual Dragon events (something you *must* experience) and the Myrtle Beach S2000 Meet (MBSM)!

Of course...there are other s2ki folks in the Florence/Myrtle Beach area...we continue to grow our community...

You are proof! Welcome!!

Enjoy your S2000 and welcome to the Carolinas...we're glad you're here!!

Congrats!
Heck of a story and you had to go thru... As you've found out, MOST dealerships do not have a clue about the S2K in general... Be extra careful if you go to one for service...
Personally I like the Suzuka a lot... In fact my first one was Suzuka...

Silverstone huh... OK I guess...

J/K bro ... Welcome aboard... drive the piss out of her and catch a few MED's if ya can!!!

Congrats on the new car. Enjoy it while the weather is still abnormaly warm around the Carolina's. Today was prime driving weather, especially with the top down.
