If im not mistaken one of the hurricanes a few years back destroyed some of the ocean highways that was part of the run... HWY 70-somethin I think. I dont think the run is a do-able thing until that hwy is fixed. Thats what I thought I remember hearing.

 

it was also 8-10 hours of driving since there were no good places for all of us to stay. Got a little long. But the bridge was well worth it.

Yea, Hurricane Fran put an end to the event for a year and our community organizer never picked it up again.

Too bad. It was cool to ride the ferry and go in the lighthouses.

 

Dang, I'd like to do a costal/outer banks run... I bet that was fantastic... Come to think of it, I've never even been along the outer banks...
Good thread Tomas, as I too was wondering about this run and what happened to it...

 

Raul also added a second Dragon event (Wake the Dragon) in the spring, so a 3rd big event to organize may have been a bit much. The myrtle beach meet is coming up for those of you that want to cruise along the ocean, though...
