Wilmington Owners UNITE!
Our first official Wilmy owners lunch was a big success. HOTRODS2000 and I met with Richard F who is a new board member, JD, an owner who will be joining the board, and his friend Mark, who is an enthusiast. While standing in the parking lot we were joined by Fred, an owner who works next door to the restaurant and just happened to see us. He couldn't believe he had a chance to talk with other owners and announced "We should start a club!"
We decided to meet on a monthly basis and have already identified twisties in the area for spirited runs, as well as stuff we'd like to do to our cars at a Tech Day Meet. Rod has generously offered his garage for that meet (I nominate ROD as President and King!
)
Until his installment, I'll take the lead and get the next meet planned. Suggestions are welcome and greatly appreciated.
For the newbies on the board, please PM me with your screen name and I'll add you to my Buddy List. That way I can send you PM's to everyone with meet info.
Here's to a GREAT summer and camaraderie!

Wish I could have made it to the lunch meet. Looks like it was a great time.
Anna and I cruised around Wilmington and took some test drives of the new Acura TSX and BMW 3.0 Z4 with 6Speed!
Later, we drove to Jacksonville and a stop at the Mitsubishi dealer to *look* at the Evolution gained another drive.

At any rate, Anna and I were amazed by how many S2000's are in the Wilmington area. Phil, have you ever met the woman who owns a Silverstone and manages the bank (I believe it's New South) over past the 17/Military Cutoff intersection. I believe there's a bowling alley of sorts in the area. At any rate, she has owned that S2000 for nearly 3+ years. I remember driving my Berlina Black and seeing it parked by a HUGE oak tree.
We also saw another Silverstone (again, with a woman driving) and TOP UP!
Then a New Formula Red, with the TOP UP!
Then a Spa Yellow, with the freakin' TOP UP!
And finally, a Suzuka Blue (with nice after-market rims) and the TOP was UP!
The weather was just awesome yesterday and today's is supposed to be *just right*!
Like Chris said, be sure to do a nice posting in advance so other folks can join the lunch meets/tech days. 2 hours of driving for a day filled with S2000 folks is priceless.

Had a great time, Airgate said it right, the weather was awesome. I could'nt believe JD paid for lunch after all of the abuse he took from me about not driving his car on such a nice day.
All I ask is that we keep the focus on the drive
That's why I bought mine!
