Windows 8
Just got my new computer and had no choice but to have Windows 8 as the OS.
OMG, I hate this. I feel like I am trapped between the Devil and the Wicked witch.
Anyone of you guys have classes on this mess?

Hey Lee,
I felt the same way when i got my windows 8 laptop...it took me a while, but i can at least get around and do what i need to do now...took me about a month to get used to the mess. but don't give up hope, in a few months they will come out with windows 9 and it will be different as well...lol lets hope not.

Thanks Randy. I tried hanging some dried chicken bones while I danced the boogaloo hoping to remove this curse from my desktop. Maybe it willwork.

I've used a friends laptop with Windows 8 and all I did was hit the button that switches it to the "standard" or "desktop" mode and it felt just like regular old XP or 7. Thank the Lord that they put that option on there for guys like me who don't like change, lol.

My new computer has it as well. Do the free upgrade to 8.1 for minor improvement, but yes it's garbage. I have cursed more at the computer in the last week than working on the car!

windows 8 is reallly funny to use w/o a touch screen. I have it on a samsung tablet/pc thing and its good. On a normal desktop computer it took me a bit to get the "start" screen setup to do actual work but once I did its pretty easy

I bought a new laptop with Win8 (windows 'hate') for my wife about 8 months ago and sent it back 5 days later. It was absolutely absurd, as if Microsoft made Windows 8 for use on cell phones or tablets, and certainly not for anything work-related. Fortunately, Fry's gave me a full refund, maybe because I'm a long-time customer or maybe they are nice guys and know Win8 sucks.
I still needed a laptop for my wife, so since I had experience with the Dell auction site I went there and bought an off-lease E6410 laptop, a nice well-built machine, with Win7 and an i5 processor (pretty fast) for about $350. Turns out this particular machine was still under factory warranty through 2013 so when we found the keyboard was acting up they sent me a replacement for free. I really think the keyboard never worked because it didn't have a mark or smudge on it, in fact I believe the laptop spent it's whole life in a docking station.
I now have 4 computers that I purchased from the Dell auction site and am very pleased with all of them. My main business PC is a quad-processor Precision Workstation with RAID drives and I have another small tower at my electronics bench. I dread the day I have to replace them because I need serial and parallel ports for what I do.
And I just bought another laptop for myself, an E4310, 13" screen, Win7, i5 processor, 4GB ram, DVD-RW, with extended run time battery for $317 including tax and shipping. So if you want a decent computer with Win7 take a look at the Dell auction site.
