Default Windows XP Pro - Question on Internet Scrolling

I have a question oh knowledgeable ones!

I recently had my PC upgraded to Windows XP Professional and the internet scrolling is driving me CRAZY!!!

I have gone into the Internet Settings and de-selected the "Smooth Scrolling" feature. With this feature "activated," it was even WORSE! But the internet scrolling is not like normal. It actually seems to "refresh" the portions of the page as it advances down or up the page.

So freakin' annoying. Is there something I'm missing here???

Help me!

I don't think you're describing what you *think* you're describing. Check your system RAM (from your desktop, right-click My Computer > Properties). I'm wondering if you're RAM is too slight for you now running Windows XP Pro. Its a system hog (as is each Windows OS upgrade). And the RAM better be up to the challenge.

Just a thought.

Oh...and consider Firefox as a substitute Internet Browser to that of M$ I.E. Firefox is simpler, much less prone to virus attacks, and offers a slew of cool add-ons for making browsing fun.

I have 512MB of RAM. That should be enough....I would think.

My computer is not running slow, it's the internet surfing/browsing and scrolling.

You know....I think I *did* explain it.

Never heard of what you are describing. I have never had nothing but problems with IE. Take Wingman's advice and get Firefox.

when your browser is acting wierd it is a sign that..
you might have some kind of spyware or a virus...
run your spyware removal tool and virus scan..
then maybe upgrade it to 6.0 and update your security patches..

Ditto on the Firefox.

Just for kicks, go to a web page and click File/Work Offline. See if you still have the scrolling problem. If you do, tough beans.

If the problem goes away, um...what the hey has this accomplished?

Do some google searching with what you're suffering. Seems others have too. Here's only one example...and for every user, there could easily be a various issue...
