Default Wrecked my S....

Hey guys I sideswiped a speed limit sign after a guy came into my lane. Anyway the damage was the pass door and pass rear quarter panel. The unibody was slightly dinged like someone punched it in a couple spots. Nothing serious AT ALL, but the insurance company guy (Geico) at the body shop said while ordering the parts from Honda they sent him a Honda service bulletin 07-008 applying to all Honda's, saying "Honda strongly recommends against the process of joining cut pieces from separate vehicles-commonly known as clipping. This is not a Honda repair mehod." The shop has the clip already off another S and was very well prepped and ready to do this until they received this bulletin. What should I do? because now they are literally saying they are totalling the car and fixing can be a liability issue.....not very happy right now!

Its literally popping the tac welds and re-tac welding the new pieces from what they showed me.

Ouch! I don't know what would be worse for me, driving my S after major damage or having it totaled.

It ain't that bad tho , Yes body pieces are but thats easy replaceable I just don't want a salvage title for a few dents. If I knew how to upload pics y'all could see its petty damage.

This sounds like a great opportunity to let the insurance TOTAL it since thats what they want to do... You get a new to you S with the money they give you and you can buy back your damaged S to part it out/sell it as a track car since there is really nothing that cant be totally fixed with it.

Heck Id consider buying your wrecked S

if they have to replace parts of the unibody then have the total the car and get a new one.. not worth the risk. If done correctly you wont know the difference, but if its not done correctly the car will never be the same and be more than worthless for resale.

Total it and start anew. Sucks. but the pain will be less in letting her go.
Did they catch the fool who crossed the center line?

I have come to the conclusion I'm totaling it and buying it back. There are too many parts, time, money put into it to let it go anywhere else. I plan to get it fixed and drive it again and am certainly going to get another one right away.

Ultimate_Combination they did not catch him/her but I know what the suv looks like and god forbid I see them again.....
