Ah, I didn't know that, James. I actually prefer the European style. Day of the month should be first... D/M/Y makes so much more sense than M/D/Y. Of course, "making sense" is not really relevant, is it?

I agree Charlie ..... it does make a lot more sense .....

and it makes things VERY confusing when people start mixing the two systems !!!!

Yup, I've been on the wrong side of that confusion a couple of times.

When I write dates now, I always write it xx-Month-03. I know this is very "affected" behavior for a bloody Yank, but I think it helps in the confusion department. The fact that my team works in Ireland now also makes this very useful.
