Looks like you had a great time. There was an article in the LA Times yesterday about the lava flows on The Big Island. I was thinking about you and whether you got to see them or not. Looks like you did.

By the way, you shouldn't be surprised with all the they serve over there. It's good stuff. Just this weekend, Katy and I had some spam musibi's. YUMMY.

Aren't you off to Maui soon?

 

In about 3 weeks, I'll be off to Maui. Hope it doesn't rain on our Luau.

 

It seems highly unlikely that you'd get rained on.

The weather pattern on the Big Island appears to be a little different than Maui - the trade winds aren't as strong, and nearly every afternoon it starts to cloud up and it either rains or just stays cloudy for awhile. Then it blows away and voila! an absolutely blue, clear morning the next day.

BTW, I've been to the Royal Lahaina Luau twice now in Maui and would say it's worth it. Depends on whether you've been to one before. I think I can safely say I am now "luaued out." Just gimme the kalua pig and some fresh fish and I'm happy.

We're going to the Hyatt Luau. People have told me that it has more variety than the Royal Lahiana one. Different types of dancing (Tahitian and so forth).

If you're up for getting hawaiian food, Gardena has some of the best around. Come on down to my neighborhood and I'll take you to some of the best hawaiian food restaurants around.

 

You guys are making me jealous!

Only time I've ever been was my honeymoon. Kuwai and Hawaii. A really great time. Now, time to go check out red's pix...
