Yeah, but very indirectly.

I have a couple of co-workers who are out there for training. I think they were trying to decide earlier today if they should be evacuated from the training facility.

I'm 5 miles from the Santa Monica Mtns and 12 miles from Malibu fires, Santa Clarita is 12 miles north. I feel like I'm surrounded A lot of homes would have to go before it got to mine, but we are totally safe for now

we are safe from the fire directly, but my eyes are burning and my nose is running from all the crap in the air.

good to hear most of you are ok i can't imagine what being out there is like.

i remember driving through florida back in the late 90's when they had all those fires down there. it wasn't even near me on I95 but i had to hold my pillow over my face b/c i couldn't breathe

My two sons live in SD. They're unlikely to be faced with mandatory evac but are just a few miles from places already evac'd and most outbound hwys are closed.

It's a little nerve racking.

The actual impact on them is trivial compared to many who have lost homes and even lives but the impact is non-zero. My older son is a waiter and having trouble with income because no one is eating out. The younger son has invested thousands in his movie and the shoot is in one week. He's nervous his shoot locations will be burned or unaccessable.

Feck. This is getting me down.
