Default Anyone on this board do outside sales for a living?

And no I am not talking about prostitution!

I plan to go into outside sales when i graduate and wanted some information from individuals who have worked in outside sales for different industries (medical sales, media sales, electric/gas, pharmaceuticals, alcohol, software, etc) but not limited to just those. I'm having some difficulty choosing an industry to work in. Also please list the companies that represent each industry. Any other relevant info (salary, benefits, perks) would be awesome. Thanks!!!!

I work in the online adult entertainment industry...the biggest US company is cybererotica...other big players are python (toronto), vivid, silvercash, ARS, RJB telecom, and there are a slew of others. Good pay, laid back atmosphere, free porn, trips to the conferences (which are ALWAYS fun). I'm a programmer but I've done a lot of sales and schmoozing n stuff too for a couple of companies.

My boss' gf used to do sales, that's how I met my boss and got my current job. I started out in the industry running a site while i was in college and met her at a conference in vegas

I deal strictly with Customer Support.

Funny story, our office is a field branch and our phone number is listed. Last Saturday, some young woman called, wondering if my company had any two-seat aircraft for sale in the $30,000 price range. I politely informed her that unfortunately, our aircraft started in the $20,000,000 price range... without support. She goes on to inform me that her and her husband want to take flying lessons, and feel it is too expensive to rent an aircraft, so they'd rather but. I further informed her that the aircraft that WE sold were not a recommended platform for civilian training. After a few more minutes, I finally convinced her that learning to fly is one thing... OWNING an aircraft is something completely different. She said I was wise and hung up.

I wonder if she'll still become a pilot....

it's more a dream job for the friendly, relaxed environment and the freedom of creativity I have in my work.
