My latest Lost theory. Prepare for the... Underwater Bunker (I hate using "Hatch"... it's the wrong word).

I have been turning over the cable that Sayeed and Hurley stumbled upon. Here's a cable that looked like a communication cable (I've had 15 years in telecom) and it runs out to sea. Now it could go to another island or even mainland, but that seems quite unlikely. What about an underwater bunker?

I actually thought it made sense to be a power cable. Apparently well insulated, at that.

There was a part of the cable that was skinned and the braid was coming out. Looked very much like coax.

Could certainly serve both functions. It was a good 2-3" thick after all.

You are quite right. But the presence of a communication cable would indicate there is probably something other than a power consumer or power source.

It indicates there is someone or something to communicate with.

Exer since I watched that episode, the cable has bothered me. The fact that no one has thought of going back to see where it goes in the water baffles me. Wouldnt it be something that you would want to investigate further?

:sigh: they need a corrugated fireplace . Then they can be saved.

It's not exactly a common find. I'd think Sayid would have been very intrigued by its placement and function.
