Apparently the device in question is supposed to support SDHC cards but for some reason can not access more than 2000 files at a time...

Apparently some part is wayyyy out of spec with the SDHC standard.

Apparently this is true. The card functions perfectily in it's reader.

The real kicker is that the device can be used for mass storage. All the files on the card can be accessed via USB while it is in the device but the device itself can't read them
