I've bought a few pairs of shorts, both Specialized and some other brand (the name escapes me right now) the bibs don't quite fit me right yet. . . I'm about 10 to 15 lbs. away from that.

I'll say this, considering what bibs cost, you're not losing much by giving those a shot.
