My peers won't care at work. I can think of at least 4 staff relationships at work and nobody seems to care. Heck, we may work at the same place but being on different shifts, not at the same time.
We'll take it easy. Just be friends at first and see how things progress. If she is a vulture and wants to use me so be it. Like I said before, I won't know unless I try. It will be interesting.
