i'll be curious how the new z06 stacks up against the current z06..and of course, i'll be curious to see when "Blue Devil" is released..

I think it looks good, if not a bit conservative. I'm sure it'll look much better in person, but judging by those pics it's not that big of a jump from the C5. In fact, it's as though they went a little backwards; it looks remarkably C4-ish, esp. in the first pic.

I'm not sure on engine spec, anyone care to fill me in?

They should make the LS6 standard, and keep the base C5 price.


I don't think the headlights really fit the car. Pop-up headlights are almost a Corvette trademark; it's ashame they did away with them. The colored headlights are also a bit tacky, if you ask me. Just like on the 575M, it looks kinda gross. It's not so bad on ours because it's black, but on the red and silver that we were looking it, I really didn't like it.

 

Engine spec is an LS2 - 6.0L V8, 400 HP/400 lb-ft in stock trim. The Z51 (performance package) should be comparable to the C5 Z06.

They turned the corner with the C5 and they are keeping up the good work with the C6. I agree the interior ain't everything I hoped for, but its still a notch up from the C5. At any rate it should keep toe-ing the line.

I don't know if you know about the new blocks GM is working on. They are putting in two cams instead of one, and having them switch like VTEC, but retaining the pushrod configuration. Pretty wacky thinking. I gotta admit it sounds cool, and I bet a destroked version could crank 8000

 

by the by, I think the C6 headlight are far prettier than what honda did to the NSX
