Hey guys, help a mom out here and be truthful. I was planning on letting my son go on Saturday, the 5th only, for his first time. My daughter and her boyfriend are going also. The boyfriend, Brandon, says that on Saturday the good stuff will be sold already. Is he pulling my leg or do you agree that on the 4th, Friday, (the first day?) the good stuff will be sold? Is just one day enough?

My son now says he thinks Sunday will have better deals, like Jynxed says. If he only goes one day should it be Sunday?

After going for 5 years... I will tell you, they still have tons of stuff on Sunday. This place is huge and most dealers have tons of overstock... The best deals are on Sunday. So I would suggest Sunday...

Oh by the way Saturday is a good day to see the most people dressed up... I believe that is the day of both masquerades...

Yeah, the cash is something he would LOVE to have lots of. So bartering is expected? My only experience with that was in Tijuana ages ago.

Yes bartering is definitely expected with certain dealers. Make sure if he sees something he wants to walk the whole floor before buying. A DVD I bought last year was 25.00 at one booth and 19.00 at another. But on bigger items the difference is greater, like models and stuff...

Thanks again, Jynxed. I'll show him your comments when he gets home from summer school. BTW, isn't Monterey Park near Thousand Oaks? My mom lived in TO until she died there in her condo.

Nah, Monterey Park is near Pasadena. TO is about 30 minutes away. If you or your son need anything else, let me know...
