I want an iPhone but the +1 says it's impractical

I use it to
talk on the phone (obvious)
text message (obv)
keep my entire datebook (very easy to use and edit)
take decent on the fly photos
keep up with stocks
find places on the go (using maps or the internet)
find info quick (on the internet)
check the weather here and in India
time here and in india
calculator (easy to use)
keep on the fly lists and notes
check and send email on the fly.
additionally you could store movies on it and music.
etc.
It's a lot of practicality and is SO easy to use.

Impractical? Or not meeting the household cost-benefit point?
