although I may be san jose soon so I may be able to make a report mikey..... hmmmm....

i can't believe location has *everything* to do with it. I mean, then any ol' joe could make a good sandwich.

although so far it's held true for pizza. we have some that come close to NY but they don't top it. And my fave NY pizza joint here, complete with mob guy just closed

I am sure some of those places are ok ...we have debated this before..it is the humidity in the NE climate ..which in turns makes better bread for pizza and sandwiches like hoagies and cheesesteaks.
