I don't mean it as a slam at all. Many of my friends are of the hyper competitive nature. I can definitely be very competitive and love winning, but have reached a point in my life where I realize it's far more important to me to become better than it is to beat someone else...so I focus my effort on using others to push myself rather than competing against them...

...or something like that...
