3.1 quake in Santa Monica. Almost knocked me over.

it wasn't that dramatic. I have a stand up desk and I was leaning on it. The quake knocked it out from under me for a second. Nothing even fell over. It hit real hard and was over in about a second. No rumbling or shaking, just a BOOM then it was over. Small quakes are okay.....

thanks Chaz, little ones are like playing cops and robbers, big ones are like being gunned down for real.... not as much fun as the little ones.....

 

Yeah, I lived through several small shakers up in the bay area during the early '90s. Fortunately, I arrived there after Loma Prieta, so I missed all the "fun" -- NOT.

I actually mountain biked at the Loma Prieta epicenter. It was really scary to see the sheared off cliff that had obviously slid when the quake hit. The mountain biking down there was nice though.
