I know that US regulations are pretty strict .... Charlie was looking into what it takes to ship a RHD S2000 into the US .... it wasn't easy and they want 2 additional cars to crash test in order to give you a certificate for the other one 
In fact, you may well find that they don't ship the new GTR in next year because it will be based on the RHD model and the US has only approved the LHD version for import ....

Industry is by far the biggest problem, but, industry provides the funds to put politicians in office, so it is easier to hit out at the car drivers instead ....
