I my 3 SO MUCH and am VERY proud of all of them

its just so cool to see offspring spring off into their own directions

I don't know, G. I hate to say this...

I have yet to experience the "spark" from either of them that I desperately want to see. As a parent, I have to admit that I've dialed down my expectations. The American Dream feels to me like a fantasy right now. I have begun to expect that they simply will not achieve in their lives beyond (or even at the level) what I have. Bothers the s**t out of me, but that's what I see. I don't know if it's because of our parenting or because of their environment, but there you have it.

I am not giving up, G. I can't help the questions about my / our parenting; that's just unavoidable as those questions never end.

Oh yeah, HS is tough... I've been kinda dreading this period through the years, but it's on the doorstep.
