I feel that we should hold ourselves to our own standard. We have a rule of Law, not a rule of Man. Even if Man does write the Law, we do so with the auspice (no matter how shaky presently) that everyone should be under the Law.
If we commit acts that we ourselves find lawless, it comprimises the integrity of our law (as has been proven in the last few years).
Lastly, you can be tortured to the point where you're convinced that you're a hermaphrodite named Coco who works down at The Pink Poodle. It doesn't necessarily make that information true or anywhere close to accurate. When going down the interrogation route, we have to be damn sure of what we're doing.
