I don't think there is a black and white answer to this. I think that the something sacred is as individual as a fingerprint. My personal opinion is that it starts with mutual respect. If two people share respect for each other then they make decisions and take actions with equal respect to themselves and their partner. If that respect does not exist on behalf of either party then the foundation begins to crumble.
I think one of the keys is that you find someone whose idea of respect is substantially similar to your own. Not that they are a carbon copy of you, but that you have a common understanding at the core.
Unfortunately, part of the risk of matters of the heart is that you have to be willing to be wrong in order to find out if you're right. You have to take chances or you end up living in a box.
Trust me, this is what I've been doing for the last 3+ years. I built this box for myself because of fear and frustration and a whole host of other emotions and now I've trapped myself and forgotten how to get the hell out of this box.

^ seriously you've got to be kidding... I'm sure youcan see by the majority of the women on this site that we don't care about crap like what kinda car a guy drives or what kinda money he makes..

I do know that there is alot of compromise involved in a relationship. it just seems there are more cases of men loosing their freedoms once they get hitched or in a serious relationship. I don't even want to get into it. I just got out of a 5 year relationship with my college sweetheart about a year and 1/2 ago. It took me about a year and an '03 9k RPM S2000 to get completely over her.
I know its hard to resist the nookie but sometimes it has to be done. When your wake up everyday to nookie its starts to go to your head. Kinda like smoking the hard shit. Once marriage talk is involved than she really has the upper hand.
There are special woman out there. If you are or have a special woman than disregard this message. 99% of woman try to contol and change their man. if you are involved with the 1% or are in this 1% than you are very lucky.
oh yeah, the best way to mend a broken heart is to buy a Honda S2000. it worked for me. I will probably have to get a CBR1000 for my next broken heart.
btw: chicks really do suck. they suck dick, they sucks balls and the suck period. it will be a coldday in hell when I change my mind. I would be stoked to meet one that doenst care about what kinda car i drive and how fat my wallet is one that is my age. If they are 10 years older than me, they just want my dick, if they are 5 years younger they only like me because of my car and all the ones my age say "I don't really know you therefore I don't think we should hang out yet".
hopefully by the time im 32 i could afford one of those Russian Mail order brides. They deliver live human beings that are fully clothed from Russia right to your door step. They come out of the box with a duster and a broom reading to clean your house. You take care of all the paper work on the internet. You can even talk to her before she gets on the plane in Russia... They breed woman in Russia just to mail them to America. let the flaming begin! im probably have to turn asexual because i dont like males and no chick will ever give me the time of day after reading this post.. Oh yeah, i forgot Im getting a russian mail order bride when im 32. phew.
