To Brant and Collin. What do you guys think of Granite Falls? I found several nice homes on Winderemere's website including this one which I really like...

It's 30 minutes from Everett but it's far from Seattle. The Seattle Police Department is one of the agencies I plan on applying with in the future and I really don't want to do a commute more than an hour.

I don't think I've ever been out to granite falls since I moved up here, although I can tell you that lake stevens is a good 40-50min from seattle at a good pace. The community around lake stevens is on the rural side of suburban IMO, but it is a nice quite place to be.

Granite Falls is cool...but pretty remote if you're looking at anything closer into Seattle for future work.

As for me, I'll settle for moving to Steilacoom to a prime place for throwing a summer party and then stealing Robyn's dog and letting the pooch run around my place all summer...

Thanks guys. I will be renting an apartment for at least a few months, maybe more. I want to get a good idea of what the area is like, plus get an accurate picture of my financial situation before diving into such a large responsibility.

After last night I'm officially nowhere near being a bachelor. I spent a good part of the evening BBQing chicken and burgers and watching Holes with CC and her 3 kids including not one, but two side events of having her youngest son up mac and cheese almost on me...
