Laura's my best friend (and by best I mean best) that got in a car accident yesterday... That's what I PM'd James about...

I was askin' him if I should go see her at the hospital (out of town) and fail the class I'm in right now (from too much time missed), or just wait 'til tomorrow...

I did go last night, and thank God she was OK... I stayed for a bit, until her blood pressure dropped and they assured me she was OK, then drove home this morning, straight from the hospital to school without sleep or a shower.

Anyway, she was in a head-on collision with a drunk driver. She totalled her GMC, and was unconscious when they took her to the hospital. When her mom called me, she said there might be internal bleeding and that she was in critical condition, so I drove over there as soon/fast as possible.

When I got there, she looked fine, other than some very small cuts and bruises, and a burn on her forearm from the airbag. There was only minor internal bleeding, so they didn't need surgery - just cold therapy (read: a bag of ice ). She's coming home to Houston today so everything is OK.

But Iunno, the drive up there took the normal 1.5hrs but it seemed like 15, and I was shaking the whole way there. I don't know what I would've done if she didn't make it. Or if I didn't get to talk to her before she... I love that girl to death... Well, maybe that terminology isn't exactly appropriate...

But I don't wanna think about that.

PFFEW!!!

Alex-

I'm so sorry to hear all of this and I'm glad to here she's going to be all right. You're a good guy for caring so much.

Ya, it makes you think, doesn't it?

I'm sorry also, but not as much as I'm glad she'll be OK.

This is the same girl whose dad died in November from lung cancer. His funeral service was on her birthday!

The agony of losing her would have been much greater if you hadn't gone. Most everything (including a class) is replaceable but those that are close to you aren't... You're a good friend to her

She's a good friend to me.

She always says, "If I wasn't friends with you, I'd probably hate you. You're such a jerk."

So that's the best kind of friend, eh?

I never said she didn't.

Though it doesn't really make sense... If she'd hate me if we weren't friends, how'd we ever become friends in the first place? There must've been some gap in the space time continuum, in which the known laws of physics did not apply and I was actually a gentleman.
