I'm considering getting a Merlin Ti mountain bike built up by my neighborhood shop. The frame's been sitting on a wall for two years, and it's just crying out to me... I like hardtails anyway!!

 

Sweet. Have you seen the new Specialized "brain?" It's an inertial damper that locks out the rear suspension. So when you are pedaling along, it's a rock solid rear end, but when you jump off something the rear will flex like a full suspension.

(That's not what I have, but it would be cool. I have a hardtail.)
