Before anybody jumps down Bush's throat, what exactly is he supposed to do? He opened up the oil/gas reserves (which has only a 36 day supply) he authorized the Navy to deliver food/supplies. I'm sure that federal funds will be coming in ASAP, once dollar figures are known. The Army Corp of Engineers will be there to help rebuild the roads/bridges/levees etc.
The real question is--where is the international aid? When do we get our Katrina Aid? Are you listening Geldof? When do we get our "debt relief"?

Not really. Of course I don't live there.
The reality is that everyone had at least 12 hours notice to GTFO, most people had more. The path prediction as of Friday indicated landfall in Lousiana/Miss/Alabama area. Everyone that lives within 5 miles of the ocean knows (or should know) they're in a danger zone from any tropical storm that gets into the Gulf. The destruction is great, but really - how smart is it putting a million people in a city that's mostly below sea level?

True. It's not just the publicity loving lefties but it's also the right wing suits that are missing.
