So I have a Linux server running in the garage with no monitor keyboard or mouse. No problem once I get it running. Problem is everytime it goes down (power outage etc) it won't complete boot up unless I plug in a mouse and keyboard.

Any ideas how to change this? (so it starts up without a keyboard or mouse)

I ran it by my bro..he is the Linux geek in the family

His reply> I don't think that this is a Linux related problem. Probably coming from the BIOS. It can possibly be disabled from the BIOS or you can buy little plugs
to put in the mouse & keyb plug to prevent the problem...

Good ideas. While the BIOS didn't occur to me (Shame on me) the plugs did... I didn't know where to get them. I'll look around. Thanks.

Nope... sadly Intel architecture machines generally (with the exception of perhaps server class machines) won't boot up unless a keyboard is plugged in (I'm pretty sure mouse is optional).

In my last job, I just found an unused keyboard and left it plugged in to the computer (and try not to reboot so often ).

Did you know that the Linux logo used to be a glass of beer?

I wonder which genius' brilliant idea it was to change it to a friggin penguin.
