We took the J-Bone out (withOUT the captain) and had a really nice day! It was pretty and not too cold. We went 5 miles off of Sea Isle NJ to an area with reports of lots of birds.
So the procedure (for all the non- ermen/people) is you look for large concentrations of birds circling/diving.... the birds are looking for large schools of small bait-fish (Bunker, etc) that are "boiling" at the surface...meaning the bait-fish are being forced to the surface by LARGE predatory fish underneath the water...which of course is what we are trying to catch! this time of year it is Stripped Bass! mmmm tasty! ....so you play chasing the birds all day!
A little bit hard to see but it is unbeliveable the swarms of birds! It is a frenzy!
