It is not THAT expensive is it ??

I MAY be able to use our corporate rates to get a reasonable deal for a hotel here .... something like US$ 95 per night for a double room (decent size room in a pretty good hotel).

 

Planned far enough in advance it shouldn't be too bad. I'll ask my stepfather, he flies to taiwan a lot, see if he has any advice.....

 

2-way tickets are probably ~$1000 per person?
Hotel for a week is ~$750
Eating out for a week is ~$400
Alcohol for a week ~$200
Misc "entertainment" expenses ~$100-500

Etc... it all adds up. When Greg Stevens and crew went to Tokyo for a week, they all spent well over $2000.

 

I would expect to pay that much. Lisa and I went to Europe last year and even stayed with her sister some of the time in Austria and we spent 1800 for the ticket (for both of us) and about another 1500 for "stuff"

It aint cheap...... unfortunately....

 

of course you aint flying to Kansas either....

 

Yeah, that was my point. I think it'd be cool as hell to go to Tokyo for a week... However I don't know that all who would want to go could afford it. It would be a major stretch for me, and likewise for most of the other younger members (excluding those who come from well-heeled familes).
