In the end, Chad re-opened it, but by then I just had a foul taste in my mouth so I closed it.

Afterwards I got the "buddy" stamp... but it seems to be all cool now.

A couple of weeks later the OG thread was opened, which was in essence the Casual HAW thread. But of course I'm not allowed to post there since I don't have 3 stars.
