Thumbs up CORNERTECH: what clutch you all using?

im in the market to replace within the next 6 months or so... any of you replaced? i need a consensus before i purchase...

im debating the pros cons of either the oem replacements ($300-350)

SACHS vs exedy/daikins

or the middle range ($600-650)

ACT vs Clutchmasters

or high end ($1000+)

Exedy .. spoon.. etc..

monkey answers allowed. i dont expect to get too many serious answers.. but figured i would get some i jus need for mainly street with the occasional autox..

I believe Yelo/Boots/Jen is using the ACT and last I heard she liked it in her S as much as I love mine in the Miata.

ahh yes brant... i was curious what you were using as well...

I had an ACT in my integra before... but it only lasted a year... i think it might have been a faulty install.. but that was my experience...

would consider giving them another try if you guys aren't having problems..

Purchased in '99.

<-- Should have another 10+ years before I replace the clutch.

I've never "had" to replace a clutch.

I love my ACT clutch. Been in the car for a year so far and has done duty as a rush hour commuter, road tripper and track car with no ill effects to speak of. There's a bit of whine, but I'm not certain it's the clutch since this car makes all sorts of whiney noises just like it's owner. Aside from that, though, I haven't had a single problem with it and wouldn't hesitate to install another one in another car if the opportunity arose.

Mine's an uprated street clutch. Didn't see the need for a 4 or 6 puck "race" clutch for my installation. This clutch is capable of easily handling more than double the power my little car puts down.
