December to Remember
Sorry for the long delay on my reviews!!!
Tuesday we went and saw Band of Skulls, Anya Marina, and Metric.
Instead of repeating myself over and over in the review for Anya Marina, I'm just going to say that she was awful everynight. I feel bad for saying this, but it's the truth, the crowd was talking over her performance and no one was really interested..
Plus she said the same thing every night!
On Tuesday we got to the Crystal Ballroom a little late, we ended up standing along the wall. Once the bands started to play all of the tall people with BIG hair decided to stand right infront of me
If you didn't know this already, I'm a shorty
Luckily Evan had a
and had me put my feet on the edge of the bench next to us (that was full of people standing on it) and had me lean against him so that I could see the bands!
The only bad part of being up there was that the girl I was standing next to had some bad B.O.
I guess that's expected
Band of Skulls was good! They had good music and played it well live, but they were a bit boring to watch.
Metric was AWESOME!!!!!! Very energetic and great music!!! Loved the performance!
No Crowd curfing or any craziness tonight
On Wednesday we got to the concert late so we didn't get a seat. We ended up standing right next to the VIP section and got to see all of the band members run around
We didn't know either of these bands very well. Their performances weren't as good as the night before, but it was still alright.
Airborne Toxic Event started to bug me because they kept saying "this is live on the radio and they should play this song on the radio!", they said that like 4 times, the first time was kind of funny, after that I was annoyed...
The Bravery was good, there was a little bit of crowd surfing in this performance. The best part of this concert was when one of the fans jumped up on the stage kissed the lead singer (while he was playing) and then the guy just dived back into the crowd!
Overall it was an alright night
On Thursday we got to see the White Rabbits and VW!!!!! We got to the Crystal Ballroom EARLY and there was a line that wraped around the building to get in. We got to sit front and center on the balcony
The White Rabbits were AMAZING!!!!!!!!! I would love to see them again. They had great music and were really fun to watch.
VW was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much fun!!!!!! Love, love, love VW! The crowd had a lot of fun, everybody was singing and bouncing
I love how VW interacts with the crowd, like they ask you to sing back to them, etc.. No crowd surfing tonight, but one of the best performances of the week!
On Friday we saw Black Joe Lewis and the Honey Bears and Spoon. We got to this concert early and again, there was a line wraped around the building (but the line wasn't as long as the night before). We got pizza and grabbed a seat up in the balcony
Black Joe Lewis and the Honey Bears where great! They were funny and entertaining. They sounded awesome live!
Spoon... well, Spoon was not what I expected at all
They were not energetic at all, I thought they were going to
on stage. Nobody was dancing (crowd or the band), and it was pretty boring. They didn't even sound good live
This was one of the concerts that we were excited about and it was pretty boring... We ended up leaving a half hour early, and listened to the concert live in the car and drove to get some Voodoo Doughnuts
Voodoo was the perfect way to end the week
Overall, our favorite nights were Monday (Hockey and Passion Pit) and Thursday (White Rabbits and VW).
Anyway, hope you enjoy the reviews! I'll post some pics ASAP!
