There are a couple of stories behind the celebration, but I don't really know them. I just know that one of the stories involves Mongolian occupation, and the other involves the moon (go figure).
There are many different types, but I THINK the most traditional one is made with lotus seed paste. The ones I have tried have always been very rich and sweet. They have salted duck egg inside them as well
