Well it's 30GB down to 4.5GB. The ratio is more important and is a (30GB/4.5=) 6.67 times compression but that's 30-4.5GB= 25.5GB (in this case)

I don't consider it 'a lot' frankly. MP3's compress at roughly 11:1 and our compression of medical images is 20:1. 7:1 is kids stuff.
