I have to disagree...sometimes talking about subjects that challenge the mind are very healthy for the brain...it keeps you thinking, wondering, and wanting more knowledge.

Why talk about theories some old guys made up on a cloudy night when you can just use ure imagination? THATS challenging ure mind....instead of challenging each other to a debate on other peoples ideas.
Because that crazy guy running around saying the world is round could have his theory turned into fact..

You need theories to have facts

Like today all a large % of Physicists are try to prove that Time is irrelevant to physics...which could change the current quantum physics theories and they way we look at the universe

Yeah but why here? why must we start quoting people we never knew? why cant we have our own ideas? why must it be about being able to quote this guy and that? especially when some people who have quoted things in this thread cannot take the quotes from famous theologists and describe them in their own words, thus proving they actually understand the theory

because my theory of planting a 100 dolla bill and growing a money tree really never worked...so I must look at others for their crazy ideas....

plus, some of the crazy ideas come from crazy smart mofo fockers....

Modern physics has no attachment to real life... it's all an ultimately pointless search for knowledge. If there's 10^100 alternate universes, it doesn't affect what's going on in this one. And if time doesn't exist, so what? It doesn't change the fact that I still have to show up Monday for work so I can pay my bills... I used to follow physics and astronomy, but it's to the point where it's silly. Two dorks arguing over whether Big Bang occured 13.4 billion or 14.3 billion years ago... YAY.
