Part of Highway 18 closed at the Arctic Circle just west of the lake:

We've been through three good sized quakes while in Big Bear, one with the epicenter in Big Bear City, which isn't that far (as the crow flies) from where we stay in Moonridge. BTW, we're thinking of going up there the weekend after next. Want to join us for a visit/drive?

yup! Nick was sitting across from me out there & said " you feel that? " growing up in CA you never forget that feeling when one STARTS the wondering how long or strong it will BE???? I've been in a few LG ones the 1989 one was probably my largest & most interesting 2nd place was 18th floor of the Disney Paradise Hotel a few years back which also was quite interesting
