I've driven a half dozen or so S2000s and am not hung up on the redline, but rather how easily the car revs and how entertaining it is to drive. 9k is a technicality...but not the essence of the car.

"The new S2000 feels quicker and likely hits 60 in about 5.5 seconds"

Looks good to me, I like the new updates as well, everyone was complaining how this was a pure-sports car (granted), but lots of people said they wouldn't mind some ammenities to make it more practical (ie extra cup holder, little more hip-room, more compartments, bigger engine, less redline, etc etc..) now when the changes are here, some people are saying that it's not a "pure sports car" anymore, well I say make up your minds.. I think we have the best of both worlds with the new model, indeed with a little compromise, but nothing really major to fuss over..`

BTW, do dealers really think that way? Like if I come in with say a 1992 Civic <Sister's> or a fairly new Accord <Parents> would I get different/more partial treatment??

try it and find out but you know what they say appearances are everything and dealers are notorious for that.

I went to a MB dealer for a test drive and I was driving my Passat and I didn't get any attention.

How you look (meaning you and your car) makes all the difference in the world! Car salespeople think they can tell who's got money, and usually they can.
