Cows have no depth perception, so they will walk up but not down stairs. This is why virtual cale grids are effective at stopping cattle.

I disagree. When I was little my friends family had a dairy farm and the cow would walk down a ramp. It wasn't stairs but
I found this video just now. Not exactly graceful but it can be done.
