FACT
Big Mary, a circus elephant, killed her inexperienced trainer, Red Eldridge. Newspapers sensationalized the killing, causing towns to boycott the circus. The elephant was hanged by the neck from an industrial crane to appease the crowds. Poor pachyderm.
