John, I have no clue what you're talking about (of course, I do know what 42 is all about). So, if your teach knew your random number seed, how did that get you screwed?

It was more than a random number seed. I used it as a seed and an known constant.
The thing is he and I were (are) buddies. See I was OLD when I went to Eng'g school. I used to bet him beers my programs could solve his problems. He'd test my progs with Q's and my progs could stand the testing to a point... he'd regularly tuck me over by knowing my "42" secret. No big deal except when he finally tried it in an exam. I caught it but thought, "you TUCKER!" He watched my face and laughed as we shared a joke in the middle of an exam.
