did someone say indian food?
Do get your hopes up should go into a Waitrose (supermarket): they have these frozen Indian meals that are pretty good.

Don't, by-and-large, get your hopes up of getting really good Indian food randomly in Metro London. It's not spicy enough. However, if the place smells good, tell them you're from California; they might get the hint and make it spicy enough.

True story: I was in Mayfair, walking around, and didn't want to pay 10 pounds for pub curry. So, I duck into this Indian place, order the special. They ask me, "This is Southern Indian food sir. It might be a bit spicy." I told them,
"I haven't had any properly spicy Indian food since I've been here. I'm from the Bay Area."
The old guy in the corner asks, "Which town?"
"Fremont."
"Oh yes! We've got a cousin there."
The two guys proceed to have some conversation. . . I suspect the elder was telling the junior which relative and that yeah, the guy can handle it.
"Oh yes sir, I think I know what you mean."
15 minutes later, I had a dosa and some masala that was nice n' spicy.
Later that night, everybody else paid for it.

I would like to say that while there's no fast food per se having doner kebab and Indian take-away at every corner. . . wait, nevermind. . . I'm still in the Bay Area.
I'd think there's actually a fair amount of Indian food in Limeyland?

That was the joke. Compared to the rest of the U.S., one could easily say there's a LOT more Indian take-away in England. . . However, here. . . well.

1. Taco Bell is NOT mexican food, it's not even a rough approximation.

2. Are you sure there are no Taco Bells there? I saw a Taco Bell in Puerto Rico, and I was like: WTF?

Come to think of it, it might be a good day for Tandoori chicken.

It's a helluva drive to King Eggroll, save nothing of King Taco.
