I wouldn't try to argue with that point of view, George, but I would point out that if the emissions were of such a small magnitude as to be insignificant in the context of the earth's atmosphere as a whole, whilst they could never be seen as anything but bad, they wouldn't present a short to medium term problem in terms on pollution or damage to the environment.
