Default Fires in OZ

Hey Peter, I read about the fires burning in Canberra in the paper today. I know this is like asking someone from LA about a crises in San Francisco - but are you close to that area, or do you know anyone there?

I hope they get them put out soon, it doesn't sound good.

Canberra is about 6 hours drive north from here. They lost about 368 homes over the weekend.

We've had a few spot fires close to home but nothing serious. There's a fire front burning about 3 hours north east of us but I don't know much about it. I woke up this morning and all I could smell and see was smoke, visibility is down which is kind of erie.

Thanks for the kind thoughts Kathy.

Looks like I was about right with the distance comparison. I'm about 6 hours from San Fran ... and no, John, there are no crises (is no crisis) that I'm aware of in San Fran -
